WE CHOSE IT BECAUSE
It is a sumptuous wine that can be drunk both during a meal and after dinner while chatting with friends
Amarone, despite the prestige that surrounds it, is a relatively recent wine with a fascinating history. In 1936 Adelino Lucchese, the cellar master of the Cantina Sociale della Valpolicella went down to the cellar and found a barrel of Recioto, a sweet and equally delicious wine typical of Valpolicella, that had been forgotten for years. His curiosity led him to taste this “forgotten” wine, and never was his choice more apt. He immediately realized that he had a ruby red liquid gold on his hands and immediately exclaimed, “this is not an amaro, it is an amarone!” That day, thanks to a lucky chance and the intuition of an expert cellarman, that wonderful wine we now call Amarone was born.
The grapes for Andrea and Ivano Brunelli’s Amarone della Valpolicella Classico are selected on the vine, harvested by hand and left to dry for 3 months in wooden boxes. They undergo a double maceration, cold to spontaneously start fermentation, hot to extract the best aromas of the grapes used. After aging for 3 years in oak barrels and at least 1 year in bottles, this incredible wine is ready to be fully appreciated.
The color is intriguing, ruby red with garnet highlights.
Prune and cherries in spirit emerge on the nose, enveloped by the scent of spices and chocolate.
On the palate it is intense and enveloping, with soft and elegant tannins that ensure excellent persistence on the palate.
In the kitchen, it is the wine you need for a special occasion. It supports red meats, stews beautifully, one above all goulash because of its important spiciness, and long aged cheeses with intense flavor. Post-dinner is perhaps the best time to enjoy its myriad aromas: try it with dark chocolate or on its own without pairings, chatting late into the night by candlelight.
INGREDIENTS AND BENEFITS
A glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away!
It is clear that wine is not harmful to our bodies, as a substance given to us by nature in the form of fruit from which man over the centuries has managed to obtain this heavenly beverage. We can guarantee that our winemakers work by following ancient methods, supported by the aid of contemporary technologies: this is why we feel confident in saying that Italian wine, the real one, is a panacea for body and mind.
The presence of polyphenols in wine (to a lesser extent in white wines and in large quantities in reds, especially when aged) provides constant protection against cellular oxidation, the main culprit of aging and cellular deterioration.
Perhaps even more obvious and important, however, are the psychological benefits that a good glass of Italian wine can give you: the lightheartedness it gives to an evening with friends, the romance it helps to create in a couple’s dinner, the passion it is able to unleash in anyone lucky enough to taste its essences.
We receive your order, prepare it and ship it in 24/36 hours.
We are aware that excellent products need excellent packaging and at the same time we cannot risk damaging in any way the precious Italian culinary jewels: for this reason our warehouse is equipped with temperature and lighting ideal for food preservation and the most delicate ones (cheeses, cold cuts and craft beers) are stored inside cold rooms. During shipping, on the other hand, each product is protected with the packaging most appropriate to its characteristics.
Cheeses and cured meats, which despite being aged require special care, travel accompanied by a special slow-release gel ice inside isothermal bags: in this way freshness is preserved until the goods arrive at your home.
For our craft beers, which are unpasteurized and therefore more sensitive to high temperatures than normal, we use special isothermal bubble wrap, which can ensure that the accumulated cold is maintained for the shipping time while protecting the bottles from shocks.
To secure the precious bottles of Italian wine, we have equipped ourselves with special inflatable bags, designed solely for the purpose of immobilizing and protecting this product inside the box.
For jars containing a thousand Italian goodnesses, we use special protective bubble wrap liners.
