The Gose style takes its name from the river of the same name west of Leipzig in Germany. In ancient times Goslar, a town crossed by the Gose River, was most famous for its salt quarries. The minerals and processed salts poured into the waters of the river, from which master brewers drew to brew their beers. Because of this, the beers made with water from the Gose River were special, endowed with that salty note capable of distinguishing them from all others.
Therefore, to produce a beer in full Gose style, the 61Cento guys add the ingredient that characterizes this style, namely salt, and they do it in full respect of their philosophy and of the territory: the salt used, in fact, is nothing but sweet salt coming from the renowned Cervia salt pans, a few kilometers from Pesaro. Salemandra is also reinterpreted with the addition of lemon and ginger.
On the nose, the hints of lemon and ginger are evident.
On the palate it is slightly salty and spicy.
In cooking it goes well with fish and seafood dishes but also with cheeses; its spicy notes make it able to hold its own with various game meats.

When you happen to ask someone about the benefits that beer brings to our bodies, the answer that is usually given (and which is not entirely wrong) is this: it is refreshing on hot summer days and it immediately puts a group of friends in a cheerful mood. Two no small benefits, no doubt, but what if we told you that beer is also capable of providing real physical benefits to your body? Its content of B vitamins helps to prevent cardiovascular disease, and thanks to some of the components within it, beer is able to conciliate sleep. It also turns out to be rich in minerals, a quality that is especially useful in defending against the summer heat that leads to high loss of them.
In any case, beer should be consumed in the right quantity and one rule, however, should always be kept in mind: it is important to prefer quality over quantity. By choosing craft beers from small producers you will have a gain in health, in taste and you will help these small heroic breweries that work with natural and traditional methods.
