PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Honeydew Honey comes from sugary substances secreted by various types of sucking insects that feed on plant sap. Honeydew, therefore, is not a true honey like any other because it is not exclusive to bees. Giorgio Poeta makes his Honeydew Honey from plants located in the woods of the mid-hills of the Marche region in the period from June to September.
Its liquid consistency that never fully crystallizes and its dark brick amber, almost black, color make it an inviting product even to the eye.
The aroma is rich and distinctive: balsamic, with hints of wood and resin, almost smoky, burnt wood and wet dry leaves; very fruity, notes of caramel, malt and dried apricots.
On the palate it is slightly sweet and medium acid; the flavors that come through are those of syrup and dates, fig jam. It also has a slight savoriness and good persistence on the palate.
You can use honeydew honey to sweeten fruit or ice cream, also giving it the special flavors of this honey. With a pecorino cheese, even a long aged one, it creates a flavor explosion not to be missed.
INGREDIENTI E BENEFICI
INGREDIENTS: Honeydew honey
Honey from artisan beekeepers is perhaps one of the most natural foods you can find commercially. However, it is essential to know where the honey comes from when you buy it, because scams, harmful to your health, are just around the corner. How can you be sure of the origin of the honey you buy? Simple, you’ll just favor honeys from small producers who put their faces to it and work with respect for bees and the environment, rather than honey whose origin and composition is not well specified.
Honey is a food rich in carbohydrates that can be immediately used by our bodies to produce energy, and is therefore particularly suitable for athletes and young people, who need a lot of energy. It also contains many minerals and natural antioxidants, which help our bodies stay healthy and prevent cell aging.
Finally, contrary to what one might think, honey compared to sugar, in addition to being a much more natural sweetener, has a lower glycemic index. Therefore, honey should be favored over sugar, both from the nutritional aspect and, of course, from the aspect of taste.
SHIPPING
We receive your order, prepare it and ship it in 24/36 hours.
We are aware that excellent products need excellent packaging and at the same time we cannot risk damaging in any way the precious Italian culinary jewels: for this reason our warehouse is equipped with temperature and lighting ideal for food preservation and the most delicate ones (cheeses, cold cuts and craft beers) are stored inside cold rooms. During shipping, on the other hand, each product is protected with the packaging most appropriate to its characteristics.
Cheeses and cured meats, which despite being aged require special care, travel accompanied by a special slow-release gel ice inside isothermal bags: in this way freshness is preserved until the goods arrive at your home.
For our craft beers, which are unpasteurized and therefore more sensitive to high temperatures than normal, we use special isothermal bubble wrap, which can ensure that the accumulated cold is maintained for the shipping time while protecting the bottles from shocks.
To secure the precious bottles of Italian wine, we have equipped ourselves with special inflatable bags, designed solely for the purpose of immobilizing and protecting this product inside the box.
For jars containing a thousand Italian goodnesses, we use special protective bubble wrap liners.
