The characteristic name, which means “master” in Sardinian dialect, perhaps derives from the mastery with which vines were cultivated since ancient times in Sardinia, or perhaps from the characteristics of Nuragus, the ancient native grape variety used to make “Maistru.” In any case, this white wine, an IGT Isola dei Nuraghi, surprises with its complexity and longevity, which makes it special especially after a few years of rest in the cellar.
The harvest, strictly by hand, extends from early September to mid-October. Fermentation takes place spontaneously and maceration involves 4 days of contact between the skins and the must. “Maistru” ages in steel and bottle and is not filtered before bottling, keeping its natural personality intact.
Yellow fruit and citrus aromas are evident on the nose.
The flavor is aromatic and enveloping, capable of filling the mouth; mineral and savory notes are very evident.
The relatively high alcohol volume makes it an excellent tasting wine, able to hold up to even fairly savory dishes and to be tasted by paying attention to details. First courses of fish, shellfish and molluscs, but also tasty vegetables: “Maistru” is a wine with ancient flavors but with a more than current taste!

We are aware that excellent products need excellent packaging and at the same time we cannot risk damaging in any way the precious Italian culinary jewels: for this reason our warehouse is equipped with temperature and lighting ideal for food storage and the most delicate ones (cheeses, cured meats and craft beers) are stored inside cold rooms. During shipping, on the other hand, each product is protected with the packaging most appropriate to its characteristics.
Cheeses and cured meats, which despite being aged require special care, travel accompanied by a special slow-release gel ice inside isothermal bags: in this way freshness is preserved until the goods arrive at your home.
For our craft beers, which are unpasteurized and therefore more sensitive to high temperatures than normal, we use a special isothermal bubble wrap, which can ensure that the accumulated cold is maintained for the shipping time while protecting the bottles from shocks.
To secure the precious bottles of Italian wine, we have equipped ourselves with special inflatable bags, designed solely for the purpose of immobilizing and protecting this product inside the box.
For jars containing a thousand Italian goodnesses, we use special protective bubble wrap liners.
