The Tonda Iblea olive finds its ideal growing habitat in the hills, up to a maximum height of about 600 meters above sea level. The climatic characteristics of Sicily, particularly the eastern provinces of Messina, Catania and Syracuse, make the island the ideal as well as the only soil in which this wonderful olive cultivar can grow and thrive.
Melchiorre and Salvatore Angelica’s Tonda Iblea black olives are processed only with Sicilian sea salt before being potted. They are soft on the palate and have pleasant bitter notes. They are ideal during aperitifs accompanied by a glass of bubbly or paired with a board of aged cheeses.
