WHAT IS GUSTATIUM
1. HOW DOES GUSTATIUM WORK?
Using the e-commerce of Italian food is very simple. Thanks to Gustatium you can explore Italy and its culinary traditions anytime and anywhere. Enter the site, browse the various categories and choose the Italian delicacies you would most like to taste. After adding them to the cart choose the payment method, enter the data we will need for delivery and that’s it – all you have to do is wait!
2. WHAT DISTINGUISHES THE PRODUCTS I FIND ON GUSTATIUM?
We select our producers according to specific criteria: limited and seasonal production, remoteness from large-scale distribution, and people who work passionately in an artisanal and as natural way as possible while respecting and enhancing their territory. That’s why when we test a supplier’s products to see if it can be suitable to satisfy your craving for Italian food excellence, we are already certain: those who work with this philosophy can only result in products of the highest quality.
3. DO YOU HAVE YOUR OWN WAREHOUSE OR DO THE GOODS COME DIRECTLY FROM THE MANUFACTURING COMPANY?
We have a regular warehouse that complies with all hygienic and sanitary regulations, located in Jesolo (VE), Italy.
Orders leave directly from our warehouse, where all goods marked as “available” in our e-commerce are stored. In this way your box will arrive in the shortest possible time and carefully packed.

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
5. HOW LONG DOES MY ORDER TAKE TO ARRIVE AT MY HOME?
Delivery time depends mainly on the delivery address. From the time of payment confirmation, we ship your order within 24/36 hours. Once the goods are entrusted to our couriers, the transit time depends on the distance and logistics of the couriers. Normally in Italy, delivery is estimated to take 24/48 hours; in Europe, on the other hand, depending on the distance from Italy, delivery can take 2 to 6 days.
6. WHICH COURIERS DO YOU USE FOR SHIPPING?
The couriers we have an agreement with for our shipments are GLS and BRT.
7. DO YOU ALSO SHIP IN THE SUMMER?
Yes, shipments take place even in the hottest periods.
As for most products, such as wine, oil and vacuum-packed food in glass jars, transportation is not a big problem, as they are never exposed to direct sunlight anyway since they are inside the special Gustatium box. In addition, our craft beers are wrapped in isothermal bubble wrap, which can better preserve their proper temperature.
8. HOW DO YOU PROTECT COLD CUTS AND CHEESES FROM HEAT DURING TRANSPORT?
We do not sell any cold cuts or fresh cheese. All our cured meats and cheeses are cured and vacuum-packed: therefore, it is not necessary to respect the 0-4°C cold chain.
In any case, especially in the summer months, cold cuts and cheeses are placed inside special isothermal bags together with bags of slow-release gel ice; by doing so we are sure the quality of the products will not be affected during transport.
9. ONCE MY ORDER IS CONFIRMED, HOW DO I KNOW WHEN IT HAS BEEN SHIPPED?
After your order has been confirmed, a summary of the delicacies you have purchased and the data you have entered will arrive in your mailbox. At the same time, in your personal area under “orders”, your order will appear with the words “in process”: this means that we are preparing your box. At the moment when the goods are entrusted to the courier, the status of your order will change to “completed”, accompanied by an email to the address you provided stating that we have completed processing your order.
10. ONCE MY ORDER HAS SHIPPED HOW CAN I TRACK THE SHIPMENT?
When your order is picked up by the courier, a link for tracking the shipment is sent to the email address you provided. In the event that you do not receive it within a few hours of confirming your order, don’t worry, send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, we will take immediate action to resolve the problem.
11. HOW CAN I COMMUNICATE SPECIAL REQUESTS WHEN PLACING MY ORDER?
If you have any requests regarding your order, such as the inclusion of a greeting card or your order summary inside the box, you can write it in the dedicated space “order notes” when filling in the data for your order. We will try in every way to fulfill your wishes!
12. I AM ON VACATION IN JESOLO AND WOULD LIKE TO PICK UP MY PURCHASE IN PERSON. IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO SO?
Certainly, on the Shopping Cart page there is the possibility to select the option “pickup at the warehouse”. The purchase procedure will be the same: you will have to pay online and then report to us in the appropriate fields the day and time slot for pickup. The address of the warehouse will be provided to you at the time of payment.
We will prepare your order with the usual care so that it will be ready when you arrive.
13. CAN I PAY FOR MY ORDER AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY?
No, our payment methods do not include cash on delivery. We have several payment methods, which are listed on our payment page.
14. I WOULD LIKE TO PAY FOR MY ORDER BY INVOICING MY COMPANY, CAN I DO THAT?
Yes, you can decide whether to pay as an individual or as a company. When filling out your information, you will have to choose whether to continue the purchase as a private individual or as a company, checking one of the two alternatives. When you decide to pay through the company, the fields necessary for us to prepare the invoice will appear, namely “company name”, “VAT number” and “unique code”, which will be sent to you electronically.
15. DO I HAVE TO COMPULSORILY REGISTER IN ORDER TO PURCHASE GUSTATIUM PRODUCTS?
Absolutely not, anyone and at any time can enjoy Gustatium’s fantastic Italian specialties.
Registering and subscribing to the newsletter, however, allows you to get some benefits such as discount codes and promotions or continuous updates on new arrivals and evolutions of the portal.
16. HOW CAN I USE THE DISCOUNT CODE I HAVE?
If you are in possession of a discount code (either through subscription to our newsletter or because of special promotions we run), you can use it when you place your order. Once you have completed your stock of Italian specialties and arrived at the shopping cart, under the “proceed with order” button you will find the “Promotional code” item: you will need to enter the discount code you have in the box below and press the “apply promotional code” button. The cart will be immediately recalculated and the new total will be lower thanks to the discount just applied.
17. DO YOU ALSO HAVE 100% PLANT-BASED PRODUCTS IN YOUR E-COMMERCE?
Yes, Gustatium wants to enhance the natural production of small artisans of Italian food, so it is easy to come across products totally free of animal derivatives and absolutely delicious!
We have a specific “Special” category called “Vegan,” where you can find all those products suitable for a plant-based diet such as extra virgin olive oil, vegetables in oil, legumes, cereals and many other typical and traditional Italian specialties.
18. DO YOU ALSO HAVE NON-ITALIAN PRODUCTS ON YOUR SITE?
No, all the products you will find on Gustatium are Made in Italy are made strictly with ingredients selected from small producers scattered around Italy that we know personally.
19. WHY DO SOME PRODUCTS (ESPECIALLY CURED MEATS AND CHEESES) HAVE THE WORD “ABOUT” IN THE WEIGHT INDICATION?
All of our cheeses and cured meats are made by small producers who shape or cut by hand the sizes we request. It may therefore happen that the weight of a product deviates slightly from what is expected. In any case, all pieces are previously weighed by us to try to indicate a weight value that is as close as possible to the real weight. The weights of meats and cheeses therefore will always be around those indicated as “approximately,” and most of the time they will be higher, precisely so as not to go to the detriment of the person making the purchase.
The error, however, hardly exceeds 50 grams of difference, either over or under.
