Picus is a Weiss reinterpreted with local products. The raw wheat variety used in the production of this Italian Weiss is Gentil Rosso, a native ancient wheat still grown in the Urbino area, a few kilometers from Pesaro. This ancient wheat gives the beer distinct, unique aromas and flavors.
On the nose the characteristic fruitiness of the Weiss is immediate, mainly with banana and balsamic notes, the latter precisely because of the Gentil Rosso wheat used.
On the palate very strong are the beer’s freshness and minerality.
In the kitchen, its minerality and freshness make Picus suitable with fish and seafood dishes; however, it also lends itself to red meats and spicy dishes, as well as to pizza for the most classic of pairings.
Fun fact: Picus means “woodpecker” in Latin. The woodpecker is the symbol of Marche, the region where Gentil Rosso wheat, its most important ingredient, is grown.

When you happen to ask someone about the benefits that beer brings to our bodies, the answer that is usually given (and which is not entirely wrong) is this: it is refreshing on hot summer days and it immediately puts a group of friends in a cheerful mood. Two no small benefits, no doubt, but what if we told you that beer is also capable of providing real physical benefits to your body? Its content of B vitamins helps to prevent cardiovascular disease, and thanks to some of the components within it, beer is able to conciliate sleep. It also turns out to be rich in minerals, a quality that is especially useful in defending against the summer heat that leads to high loss of them.
In any case, beer should be consumed in the right quantity and one rule, however, should always be kept in mind: it is important to prefer quality over quantity. By choosing craft beers from small producers you will have a gain in health, in taste and you will help these small heroic breweries that work with natural and traditional methods.
We receive your order, prepare it and ship it in 24/36 hours.
We are aware that excellent products need excellent packaging and at the same time we cannot risk damaging in any way the precious Italian culinary jewels: for this reason our warehouse is equipped with temperature and lighting ideal for food preservation and the most delicate ones (cheeses, cold cuts and craft beers) are stored inside cold rooms. During shipping, on the other hand, each product is protected with the packaging most appropriate to its characteristics.
Cheeses and cured meats, which despite being aged require special care, travel accompanied by a special slow-release gel ice inside isothermal bags: in this way freshness is preserved until the goods arrive at your home.
For our craft beers, which are unpasteurized and therefore more sensitive to high temperatures than normal, we use a special isothermal bubble wrap, which can ensure that the accumulated cold is maintained for the shipping time while protecting the bottles from shocks.
To secure the precious bottles of Italian wine, we have equipped ourselves with special inflatable bags, designed solely for the purpose of immobilizing and protecting this product inside the box.
For jars containing a thousand Italian goodnesses, we use special protective bubble wrap liners.
